Gorgeous NJ Family, Dog & Newborn at home Photography Session!

I’m often asked if I travel outside of NYC. The answer is YES! And was I ever glad that I do when I met this gorgeous family in New Jersey! They were so wonderful and vivacious AND they have dogs so they had me at ‘is it ok that we have TWO?????’ One could immediately see the joy and love and beauty in all of their faces (parents included) as soon as I walked in their door. It was such a terrific afternoon! (And who doesn’t love newborns in fuzzy hats?!?!?) Hooray!!!

I’ve been photographing this gorgeous little boy since he was a baby. Every year he becomes even more beautiful and fascinating and adorable and breathtakingly amazing. It’s a fantastic thing to get to witness and celebrate.

Below, a thank you from his family, reminded me of all the reasons I feel so extraordinarily fortunate to be a part of so many wonderful people’s lives. It truly is a ‘gift’ on every level.

There’s a story in The Arabian Nights where someone (Sympathy the Learned) is asked what is The Meaning of Life… and she replies “to cultivate enthusiasm.’ No truer words were said.

“Meredith. These images are truly, genuinely amazing. What an incredible eye and ease you have to be able to get into so many people’s heads, but most certainly in this case – our son’s. There are pictures here that make me laugh out loud, and that literally stop me in my tracks he’s so crushingly cute. His balance of being strong-boy and fair-haired-dearheart is completely evident throughout. I love him and I love these photographs. That day was a gift, and these photos will be there to remind us of that forever. Thank you thank you. THANK YOU!!”

I’ve been photographing this awesome family’s birthday parties for the past 3 years and every year it gets more and more special. The privilege of being a family’s photographer is immeasurable. Not only do I get to share in the joys of watching babies and families evolve but I get to document moments that will stay with the family forever. Capturing memories in the making is beyond fantastic.

Who says you need to shoot outdoors to get great shots? Winter weather can be triumphed! All these images were taken indoors! In February! Yes!

This beeeeeautiful toddler just turned 1 and his parents wished to document his amazing-ness. Easy as pie with a face and personality as radiantly scrumptious as this! In addition to being ridiculously adorable he was also unbelievably hilarious. And happy as a clam. And his parents were amazing. And his mother was beyond kind writing me the following:

Meredith, Thank you so much. They are totally gorgeous. I pretty much tear up every time I look at them.

Welcome to the world beautiful baby E!!!! We’re so happy to have you

Everyone was wrapped around this little one’s finger from minute one. And you can see why. Just 8 days old, and already a gigantic love magnet. Perfectly precious. And what made this day especially special was that the entire extended family came from all around the world to celebrate her arrival (and help out her parents…) so of course we had to celebrate and document the beginning of her life!

And the parents wanted lots of black and whites which I always love!

All in all, an amazing treat.

This family was extraordinary.

The parents beamed with such pride, joy and love and the babies were so beautiful, so delicious I’ve decided to move in .

Look at this magnificent face.
This little one was entertainment on wheels. And then some.
From circling the playroom to playing tea it was this photoshoot that inspired his mom to call a photo session with me “an extended playdate”! And so it was named!!!!!

Westchester Children’s Holiday Photography Shoot!

my goodness, these sisters were just unbelievable! The session was an out of town birthday gift (hooray for Gift Certificates!) for the father which meant I got to take a road trip up to Hudson Valley for a gorgeous Fall afternoon filled with gorgeous light and absolutely purely delightful sisters! Yes!!!

The eldest could not have been ANY more beautiful. Or hilarious. Or wonderful. I think we spent the entire time cracking each other up. And dancing. And just being silly. And she made me a drawing that I have up on my wall. And her mother told me she was asking for me the next morning…Does it get any better?

And those eyes… I mean come ON. Look at them. Incredible. Just amazing. Just like her.

And the baby was pure deliciousness. Full of silly faces, squeezable cheecks and in pure bliss with her lunchtime oranges. And with the SAME gorgeous eyes! They should patent them.

Is it too early to start looking forward to seeing them again next year? Cos I already am…
